The Questions of Grief

Posted on April 20th, 2009

In this blog, some of the brain’s involvement in grief that I'll address are these questions:

1.  Where are they?  I don’t mean where in this afterlife have they gone.  Heaven?  Or the ethos?  Or just buried. Of course, we know that they died.  We know their bodies were cremated or buried.  So, rationally, intellectually, we know that they are dead.  And yet.  And yet a part of our brain keeps asking:  Where are they?  Where have they gone?  The “Where are they” that I’ll write about is that inability or unwillingness of the brain to grasp and integrate that reality.

2.  Why do we Yearn so much for them?

3.  Why does grief hurt – physically hurt – so much?

If you have any questions about grief in YOUR journey toward healing from a loss – whether it’s loss of a loved one, loss of a dream, or a job, or a pet, etc. – please email me at Polly-LifeCoach@comcast.net.
